The second hike of summer term was a bit longer, a bit more challenging, and twice as breathtaking.

Paths along cliffs, though grassy green vallys, and directly upwards..Stopping to enjoy lunch, to milk a cow, and to learn how to make cheese this hike had it all.

At the end of the day we were all exhausted from the 8 hour walk, but grateful to have spent a day in such beautiful places and with such good company. We are lucky to have Mr. Ortiz for his determination and creativity while leading hiking trips!

Thirty Students kick off Summer Term getting in touch with nature in the Alps!

Mr. Oritz led a hike from Blatten to Brig, a leisurely 6 hour walk through the beautiful scenery left students in awe. The sun was out, the weather was perfect and the wild flowers were in full bloom, the group was even able to see an Alpine Orchid…a rare sight. Several of the Icelandic students commented on the abundance of tall trees, and the scale of the surrounding mountains stating that “I guess there are only hills in Iceland”.
