10 Students went to visit the sheep on Saturday in Belalp. The annual Shepard's festival weekend is the time when Shepards welcome their herds back from the mountains for the cold season.

The group enjoyed Raclette, traditional music, sunshine and good company. Svenni, told our group about what it is like to be a Shepard in Iceland, and even wore his traditional Icelandic Sheppard's hat.

Sports Day at UCCR Brig this term was a great Success! Over 160 students from the local Hospitality Schools: Les Rosches, IHCR Le Bouveret, and UCCR Brig participated in friendly sports matches last Saturday. Overall over 350 students were competing, cheering, and enjoying the day!

Women’s soccer, Men’s soccer, Cricket, Ping- Pong, Badminton, Volleyball, and Basketball teams from each school competed throughout the day for the title of 1st place champion… until next time.

When the buses from Le Bouveret and Les Rosches pulled up, excitement and anticipation filled the air! A simple breakfast of croissants, fruit, hot chocolate, and coffee was offered, the team captain meeting was held, and the games began!

The tournament schedule was designed to fill the day, and to ensure that each team had an equal opportunity to win :)

After a few hours of playing and watching… lunch was eagerly anticipated when Chef Eugen, Chef Daniel and the rest of the kitchen team came to the rescue with BBQ!
After lunch, the games resumed and led to the finale of the day: an intense and well played basketball game between Les Rosches and UCCR Brig. Although there were a few technical difficulties, the game finally came to a conclusion in which UCCR graciously allowed Les Rosches to claim the first place title.

Rather than presenting trophies to the winning teams and players, student committee presented a bottle of champagne to the first place team and sparkling wine to the second and third place teams.

The day was a great success, and everyone who joined had a great time!

Special Thanks to Ksenia for her photography talent!

The Zurich Street Parade was a one of a kind experience for many of the 30 students who attended the city trip. The parade is an annual celebration of peace, love, diversity, acceptance, and techno music! The theme of the parade this year was 'Still have a dream' inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King's I have a dream speech.

Many well known techno DJ’s including the famed Paul VanDyke performed. Wild and extraordinary costumes adorned the parade participants and onlookers; we saw everything from devils and angels to gothic clowns, and well dressed hippies.

Saturday afternoon student committee heated up the coals, turned up the music, and were ready to serve chilled wine and beer to all participants of the BBQ.

Many students gathered to enjoy each others company and some good grilling. Some chose to prepare elaborate dishes, salads, and specially prepared grilling glaze, while others decided to stick to traditional sausages and burgers.

A volleyball match was started, as was all dancing which was provoked by Michael's Latin DJ beats.

Everyone who participated had a great time and enjoyed the fireworks put on by the city of Brig at the end of the evening.
