And.... Dinner is served!

A starter of cured meats and bread served with a chilled fendant, steaming cheese fondue enjoyed with good company, and a refreshing scoop of apricot sorbet.

The menu choices were made to celebrate the local specialties... and created a near perfect evening.

Student Volunteers, along with the help of Mr. Konrad, Mr Oritz, Chef Eugen, and the kitchen staff made this night a tremendous success! Students and staff sat together and enjoyed cheese fondue and good company this Friday evening in the school dining room.

Student Committee organized a bowling trip Wednesday evening. It was a lovely break from studies for those who attended. The group went to Olympica, which is a fitness and recreation center near by.

Some of the participants unveiled their secret bowling expertise, while others enjoyed a good cocktail and did a bit of bowling on the side. It was a fun evening, and has inspired Student Committee to organize more trips.

Tuesday Morning at 9:00 is a difficult time to capture an audience of college students and keep their attention for an hour and a half... especially in a classroom environment. Dr. Peter O'Connor did just that.

After a brief reception of coffee and croissants, Dr. O'Connor gave a dynamic and insightful presentation about the challenges of the changing culture of the Internet, and how it is and was used by hotels for marketing.

The lecture was seasoned with approachable humor and was very appropriately designed for the diverse tastes, and short attention span of the group of young people.

Students and visitors who attended the presentation left with a new energy, and thinking about the future of Internet marketing, and its prominent place in the world, and in the hotel industry.

Thank You Dr. O'Connor for providing us with a fresh take on the world today, and opening our minds to the possibilities of the future!

This is the one week in Brig when the town comes alive, and UCCR students were ready to help celebrate.

You could hear the drumming of the bands out the window on Thursday evening as the town geared up for the annual karneval celebration.

Confetti covered the streets, crazy outfits and music were abundant, and more than enough alcohol was consumed. The streets of town were packed on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings as the celebration continued.

This weekend will be remembered by all for the great music, food and friends that the karneval provided for the most commonly quiet Swiss village.

Students enjoyed the break from the quietness of Brig for this great weekend!

The week before Valentines day, student committee worked very hard to sell and prepare over 140 valentines to deliver. Student committee worked in collaboration with Eta Sigma Delta to make this event a success.

Students and staff were given the opportunity to purchase a rose or chocolate, or a rose and chocolate and have it delivered to their friends on the Friday before Valentines Day.

This event was a great success! Student Committee enjoyed being able to spread valentines day joy to many people, and also raised CHF 100 for an Eta Sigma Delta charity.

After the great success of the last ski trip, this batch of students was eager to hit the slopes! Although the fog was making the day look very bleak... everyone had a smile on their face in the morning and was ready to make the best of it... and they did! This group consisted of 43 participants, which is less than the 56 we had last week.

The day was great fun.. on the bunny slopes the beginning snowboarders greatly outnumbered the beginning skiers. The morning started off with ski and snowboard instructors who were very patient with our energetic group.

At 13:00 the entire group gathered together and enjoyed a lovely cozy lunch at restaurant Alpenrose.

The day was concluded with only minimal injury.. but even the injured maintained their positive spirits! Thank you to everyone who helped make this day possible.. it was enjoyed by all!

Students were ready to celebrate as their favorite bar turned one year old! On Friday night a huge birthday bash was hosted, along with a sparkling wine toast to the success of the new bar in the new building.

On Saturday Student Committee helped to continue the celebration in the best way possible... to bake fresh brownies and serve them warm with creamy vanilla ice cream. Gluhwein was also available for this part of the celebration.

Overall the celebration was enjoyed, and everyone is thankful to the people who have made chaos possible, and such a success over the last year.

Happy 1st Birthday Chaos!

Divine weather, good company, tasty lunch, are sure to create lasting memories for the 56 participants in the trip!

Many of the beginners left the slopes with a few bumps and bruises, but a smile remained on their faces as they reflected on the fantastic success of the first ski trip of the term!
